Storytelling, drama, open stage, workshops…
Scottish Ethnology Society ‘Save the Forest’ St. Brigit’s Day Ceilidh
A Bhride chaoin cheanail,
Is caoimh liom anail do bheoil,
’D uair reidhinn air m’ aineol
Bu to fein ceann eisdeachd mo sgeoil.
‘Thou Brigit, fair, charming,
Pleasant to me the breath of thy mouth,
When I would go among strangers
Thou thyself wert the hearer of my tale.’
To observe Imbolc, St. Brigit’s day and/or to raise money to secure the Forest Café’s long-term future by acquiring a building, the University of Edinburgh Scottish Ethnology Society will be holding a Ceilidh in the fullest sense of the word… a folk-play called ‘Galloshins,’ storytelling, singing, ballads, food and dancing. There will be contributions from established performers but also opportunities for anyone to share songs or poems or stories that they like.
Donations to the Save the Forest campaign will be encouraged but not compulsory and food will be available from the café.
So come along, on 5 February 3pm!
