Irvine and Noble
3rd - 30th June 2013
The surrealists referred to the term Exquisite Corpse and it is this term that best defines the nature of Irvine and Noble’s practice. Each artist begins a drawing, the works are then exchanged over a period time to evolve the image until a satisfactory level of completion has been reached. Their drawn styles share a symbiotic relationship on paper, each artist bringing his own style and crucial reaction to the visual challenges set by the other, creating an organic and ever evolving narrative. Irvine and Noble have continued their practice over the years by air mailing drawings between Taiwan, Hong Kong and Scotland.
